Over Half of College Graduates Hope to Find Major-Related Jobs

The Nanning Daily reports that a recent survey shows more than half of college graduates hope to apply what they have learned in college in their future jobs.

The survey was conducted by a human resources website and found that 58 percent of the 3,000 graduates asked feel individual ability is the key factor in their future jobs, while 24 percent believed their majors are not necessary in finding a job.

It cites the example of Luo Dan, a new law graduate of law who now works as a client services manager in a trading company. Luo says it's quite difficult for new graduates to find jobs these days, and it's even harder to find one related to one's major.

A career advisor says the supply of new graduates is greater than the demand in the market and this greatly limits the choice of jobs.

The advisor also suggests that new graduates accumulate experience in their current jobs while still pursuing a career related to their field of studies.
