SHOOTING STAR: Comet Lulin zipped by Stedman, N.C., where a telephoto lens captured it Monday. The comet, which sometimes has a greenish tint due to a poisonous gas, will be 38 million miles from Earth around 10:43 p.m. Monday -- the closest it will ever get, according to NASA.
