十种透明动物 10 Transparent Animals

Fund in the cold waters around Antarctica and southern South America, thecrocodile icefish (Channichthyidae) feed on krill, copepods, and other fish. Their blood is transparent because they have no hemoglobin and/or only defunct erythrocytes. Their metabolism relies only on the oxygen dissolved in the liquid blood, which is believed to be absorbed directly through the skin from the water. This works because water can dissolve the most oxygen when it is coldest. In five species, the gene for myoglobin in the muscles has also vanished, leaving them with white instead of pink hearts.

鳄形银鱼学名“Channichthyidae”，是在南极洲和南美洲南部周围的冷水域发现的，它们主要以磷虾、桡足动物以及其它鱼类为食。由于不含血色素或者说红细胞已死，鳄形冰鱼的血是透明的。它们的新陈代谢只依靠液态血液中融入的氧完成。据信，鳄形冰鱼可利用皮肤直接从水中吸收氧。这种方式显然非常有效，因为在温度达到最低时，水能够溶解绝大部分氧。在5种鳄形冰鱼中，肌肉中肌红蛋白的基因也同样消失了，除了粉红色的心脏外，留给它们的只剩下白色。
