Top 10 George W. Bush YouTube Moments
Youtube上关于布什的10个经典镜头

At his December 2008 final press conference in Iraq, Bush showed off lightening quick reflexes when an Iraqi reporter chucked his shoes at the Commander-in-Chief's head. The reporter was quickly wrestled to the ground, subdued and arrested. Moments later, Bush responded to the incident: "I don't know what the guy's cause is ... but I didn't feel the least bit threatened by it." The incident was sufficiently ridiculous enough to inspire more than its share of parodies.

Let Me Out!
让我出去!

Seconds after curtly telling a reporter that jet lag was to blame for being "off his game," President Bush tried to leave a November 2005 press conference in China only to be stymied by a set of locked doors. Turning sheepishly to the press corps, the flummoxed Bush said, "I was trying to escape. It didn't work." No. It did not.

Shake It!

President Bush had shaken his tail feather several times on trips to African nations. But when the President danced and played the drums in the Rose Garden alongside a tribal dance troupe, he nonetheless created quite a stir. The dancers had been invited to the White House in April 2007 to commemorate Malaria Awareness Day and Bush clearly had no qualms about joining in. In fact, he stole the show.

President Astaire

While an audience — presumably the White House press corps — egged him on, Bush offered a little soft shoe action to pass the time. Waiting on the North Portico for John McCain to appear and receive the President's endorsement during the 2008 campaign, Bush joked, "I'm just going to tap dance the day away." If only candidate John McCain could have done the same with the Bush legacy.

Just Relax

Some bloggers called Bush the "Groper in Chief" after cameras caught him giving German Chancellor Angela Merkel an apparently unwelcome neck massage at the July 2006 G-8 Summit. It's not clear from the footage if Merkel was creeped out or merely just tickled, but the sight of one world leader giving another a rubdown was enough to make it an instant YouTube sensation.

Holy Awesome

At the beginning of his 2008 American visit, Pope Benedict XVI gave a speech at the White House that praised democracy and talked about the importance of religion in American life. After blessing the nation, the Pope turned from the podium to shake the hand of Bush, who had a compliment for the Holy Father: "Awesome Speech!"

Hizballah Ticks Bush Off

At the 2006 G8 summit, Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair discuss Hizballah and the U.N.'s inability to mobilize Syria to gain control of the militant group. Sounds like what world leaders do at big summits. But what the world leaders forgot is that these summits are heavily recorded affairs full of microphones and cameras. Bush lets it hang out a bit, allowing a four-letter word to slip. But it wasn't even that four-letter word, which makes this super-long CNN segment even more inexplicable. He's a grown man, people!

Now Watch This Drive

Made famous by Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, this scene from 2002 of Bush following up a screed against "terrorist killers" with a golf swing spelled disaster for his reputation. Really, Mr. President? Suicide bombings in Israel and you're showing off your form?

Long Lived the Queen?
女王万岁?

In May of 2007, President Bush welcomed Queen Elizabeth II to the White House and proceeded to note how old she is. "After all, you dined with 10 U.S. Presidents," he says adding, "You helped our nation celebrate its bicentennial in seventeen-sev... in 1976." Off with his head!

I Like Big Slaps

Misty May Treanor must have it out for Bush. Or perhaps he simply lacks the "Don't Go There" gene. In any case, there was a volleyball, some scantily clad USA women's team players at the Beijing Olympic Games and a silly butt-smacking tradition. She assumed the position, and he sort of obliged. Bush thought nothing of the photo op and was surprised by the somewhat astounded reaction, saying later, "Everything the President does is interesting."
